I built ReceiptBot because I was tired of spending 1–2 hours every month digging through Gmail for receipts. After 12 years of running businesses, I finally snapped and built a tool to fix it. The goal was never to build a SaaS empire — it was to stop wasting my evenings on receipt chaos.
ReceiptBot is a side project. I run other businesses, I have a kid, I have limited time. The hosting bill is small, the engineering team is one Claude subscription, and the only real cost is the Google/Microsoft verification process — which I'm covering myself for now. Charging users to recoup a few dollars a month wouldn't be worth the friction it adds.
So it's free. No credit card, no trial, no "upgrade for X". If this saves you the same evenings it saves me, that's enough. If it grows into something bigger one day, we'll figure that out together — but the tool you're using today will stay free for the people who started early.
